Daniel wordt gezien als een van de allerhoogst aangeschreven jonge altvioolspelers. Hij behaalde een reeks van successen op concoursen en heeft omvangrijke concertervaring. Daniel trad op over de hele wereld als solist en werkte samen met musici als Frans Helmerson, Hansjörg Schellenberger, Salvatore Accardo, Antonio Meneses en Maxim Vengerov. Daniel werd onlangs beschreven als een speler met ‘instrumentaal meesterschap’ die gekenmerkt wordt door een ‘onbevangen verfijning’.

Daniel begon zijn studie aan het Santa Cecilia Conservatoire in Rome waar hij werd geselecteerd voor het opkomende solisten programma “Cidim” waarmee hij door heel Italië concerten gaf met het Rome Sinfonietta. Hij vervolgde zijn studie in Engeland; eerst aan de Purcell School en daarna aan het Royal College of Music bij Ian Jewel. Tijdens zijn verblijf in Engeland is Daniel beloond met studiebeurzen van de Solti Foundation, Hattori Foundation en de Philharmonia’s Martin Scholarship. Hij won de 1ste prijs en de Publieksprijs in de Watson Forbes International Viola Competition. Daarna won hij de 2de prijs in de Brahms International Viola Competition in Oostenrijk en de 1ste prijs in de Valentino Bucchi Competition in Rome. Meer optredens volgden in Zuid-Amerika, in de VS en in Engeland waar hij Walton’s Concerto speelde in St. John’s Smith Square en recitals gaf in the Purcell Room, in Wigmore Hall en in de Royal Festival Hall.

In 2008 keerde Daniel terug naar zijn geboorteland Italië waarin hij in Cremona studeerde bij de beroemde altviolist Bruno Giuranna, met wie hij door heel Italië kamermuziekoptredens gaf. Verscheidene malen voerde Daniel de Lachrymae van Britten uit met het Undine Symphony Orchestra en met Giuranna als dirigent. Hij was als solist op tournee door Italië, Malta en Estland met het World Youth Orchestra en gaf optredens op de Bellinzona en Neuchatel Festivals in Zwitserland.

Daniel won de hoogste prijs voor altviool in 2012 op de Budapest International Competition. Omdat er groeiende vraag naar hem was als docent werd hem in 2012 de positie van altviooldocent aan de Santa Cecilia Conservatoire in Rome aangeboden en gaf hij talloze masterclasses op de meest vooraanstaande italiaanse conservatoria.

Opvallende toekomstige optredens zijn concerten met de National Youth Orchestra van Schotland, de orkesten van Padova en Ventië en het Orchestra van de Arena di Verona. Hij gaat ook op tournee door Hongarije met de Hungarian Radio Orchestra en de Szeged Symphony Orchestra.

Daniel speelt op een altviool uit 1800 die aan hem ter beschikking werd gesteld door de Accademia Chigiana.

Daniel has established himself as one of today's most highly regarded young violists with a string of competition successes and an extensive concert experience. He performed around the world as a soloist and collaborated with musicians such as Frans Helmerson, Hansjörg Schellenberger, Salvatore Accardo, Antonio Meneses and Maxim Vengerov. He was recently described as a player of 'instrumental mastery' characterized by 'unselfconscious refinement'.

 

Daniel began his studies at the Santa Cecilia Conservatoire in Rome, where he was chosen for the rising soloists programme "Cidim" and gave concerto performances with Rome Sinfonietta across Italy. He then continued his education in England, first at the Purcell School and then at the Royal College of Music, with Ian Jewel. During his time in the UK, Daniel has been awarded scholarships from the Solti Foundation, Hattori Foundation and Philharmonia's Martin Scholarship as well as the 1st Prize and Audience Prize in the Watson Forbes International Viola Competition. He then went on to win the 2nd Prize in the Brahms International Viola Competition in Austria and the 1st Prize in the Valentino Bucchi Competition in Rome. Further performances in South America and the US then followed, while his notable performances in England included Walton's Concerto in St. John's Smith Square and recitals at the Purcell Room, the Wigmore Hall and the Royal Festival Hall.

 

In 2008, Daniel returned to his native Italy to join the class of the celebrated violist Bruno Giuranna in Cremona, with whom he performed chamber music throughout Italy. Under Giuranna's baton, Daniel, with the Udine Symphony Orchestra, performed Britten's Lachrymae on several occasions. His demanding schedule continued when he toured Italy, Malta and Estonia as a soloist with the World Youth Orchestra and performed at the Bellinzona and Neauchatel Festivals in Switzerland.

 

In spite of Daniel's most recent achievement, the top viola prize in the 2012 Budapest International Competition, there is a growing demand for his teaching and since 2012 he accepted the position of Professor of Viola at the Santa Cecilia Conservatoire in Rome and delivered numerous masterclasses in the leading Italian conservatoires.

 

Notable future engagements include concerto performances with the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland, the Orchestras of Padova and Veneto and the Orchestra of the Arena di Verona. He will also tour Hungary with the Hungarian Radio Orchestra and the Szeged Symphony Orchestra.
