Dit jonge in London gevestigde pianotrio, genoemd naar de legendarische violist Adolf Busch, is het meest toonaangevende pianotrio van de nieuwe generatie. Ze krijgen enthousiaste reacties van het publiek en van critici in Engeland en in Europa. Nadat ze in 2012 de Royal Oversaes League Competition wonnen, won het trio verschillende prijzen waaronder de 2de prijs en de opnameprijs van het Salieri-Zinetti International Chamber Music Competition in 2012, de 3e prijs op de in 2013 gehouden Pinerolo International Chamber Music Competition in Italië en ook de 2de prijs op de International Schumann Chamber Music Award in Frankfurt.

Hoogpunten van optredens in Engeland van het in 2012 opgerichte trio, zijn Wigmore Hall, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Queen Elizabeth Hall en de Sage Gateshead. Ze gaven ook concerten in Nederland, Frankrijk, Duitsland, Zwitserland, Italië en Denemarken. Hun recente optreden optreden in Wigmore Hall werd met lovende kritieken ontvangen. De Times schreef: “heel indrukkend was de moeiteloze musicaliteit van de groep en de eenheid in benadering en attack. Het drietal leek zelfs synchroon adem te halen”. Recente en toekomstige seizoenen behelzen een tournee door China, samenwerkingen met Michael Collins en Bruno Giuranna en recitals in de Wigmore Hall, King’s Place en in het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

De drie rechtgeaarde solisten met Omri Epstein “de wonderbaarlijk sensitieve pianist van de groep”, Mathieu van Bellen wiens “zilverachtige glans eloquent weerklonk” en Ori Epstein bij wie “je je in de greep van een warme omhelzing voelde”, wonnen allemaal als solist prijzen in internationale competities. Met hun gedeelde diepe passie voor kamermuziek en met de inspiratie die zij halen uit de door Mathieu bezeten “ex-Adolf Busch”, J.B. Guadagnini viool (Turijn,1783) krijgen zij erkenning door hun prestaties en hun “ongelofelijk moedige spel”. Het trio wordt ondersteund door de Tunnell Trust, de Kirckman Concert Society, de Park Lane Group en de Cavatina Chamber Music Trust en zij wonnen de MMSF Philharmonia Orchestra Ensemble Award. Onlangs hebben zijn het prestigieuze Chamber Studio Mentorship Programme afgerond, waarbij ze les kregen van een aantal van ‘s werelds meest vooraanstaande musici. Op dit moment worden ze begeleid door leden van het Artemis Quartet op de Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel in Brussel.

Named after the legendary violinist Adolf Busch, this London-based young piano trio has emerged as the leading piano trio among the new generation, receiving enthusiastic responses from audiences and critics across the UK and Europe. Winners of the 2012 Royal Overseas League Competition, the trio went on to win several prizes including 2nd prize and the recording prize at the 2012 Salieri-Zinetti International Chamber Music Competition and the 3rd prize at the 2013 Pinerolo International Chamber Music Competition in Italy as well as the 2nd prize at the International Schumann Chamber Music Award in Frankfurt.

Since its formation in 2012 highlights of the Trio’s performances in the UK have included the Wigmore Hall, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Sage Gateshead, and they have also given concerts in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Denmark. Their recent Wigmore Hall appearance was received to critical acclaim, with The Times commenting: “most impressive was the group’s effortless musicianship and unity of thought and attack. The threesome even seemed to be breathing in synch.” Recent and forthcoming seasons include a tour of China, collaborations with Michael Collins and Bruno Giuranna, and recitals in the Wigmore Hall, King’s Place and Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw.

 

As three soloists in their own right, Omri Epstein “the group’s marvellously sensitive pianist”, Mathieu van Bellen, whose “silvery gleam darted eloquently”, and Ori Epstein, with whom “you felt in the grip of a warm hug”, have all won prizes in solo international competitions. Brought together by a shared deep passion for chamber music and inspired by Mathieu’s possession of the “ex-Adolf Busch” J.B. Guadagnini violin (Turin, 1783), they have been recognized for their achievements and their playing with “incredible verve”. The trio enjoys the support of the Tunnell Trust, the Kirckman Concert Society, the Park Lane Group and the Cavatina Chamber Music Trust, as well as being awarded the MMSF Philharmonia Orchestra Ensemble Award. Most recently they have completed the prestigious ChamberStudio Mentorship Programme, which has offered them teaching from some of the world’s leading musicians. They are currently receiving guidance from members of the Artemis Quartet at the Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel in Brussels.
